Sustainable Tourism Programme Completed

The first sustainability programme for the Taupō region wrapped up this week with speeches by eleven local operators, sharing their achievements from the 12-week journey.

On Tuesday, I completed a 12-week Tourism Industry Aotearoa Sustainable Tourism Programme alongside eleven other Taupō operators.

We presented our achievements with short speeches, highlighting the sustainable changes we’ve implemented in our businesses and our plans to continue these efforts moving forward.

The presentations marked the beginning of our collective long-term hopes for a more sustainable region. I look forward to seeing more groups take part in this valuable process in the future.

Lava Glass hosted us for the afternoon, and we celebrated with delicious platters and prosecco. A big thank you to TIA and DGLT – Love Taupō.
